A Decade Of Archipelagos

The Power of Now vs. The Power of New
A decade of islands, one photograph, and the reminder that today is the only island we truly stand on.
Island Memory
Micronesia, Amnesia, and the Charm of Being Forgotten
You may have heard of Micronesia, an archipelago in Oceania. But very few people have heard of the similar country Amnesia, as it has all but been forgotten. Feels like that sometimes here on Britain's most remote inhabited island. But isn't that the charm?
The picture above is the example: in 2011, the South Pacific Isle of Pines in the archipelago of New Caledonia; today, the Sub-Arctic Shetland Archipelago on Fair Isle. What a difference a decade makes. It is all about today, after all. Isn't that what we have left?
Today is the island we have left.
Word Worth Keeping
Archipelago
Love that word: archipelago. A chain or group of islands scattered in the ocean. Sometimes called an island chain.
