There is no YES in Yesterday and the longest day of The Weak is Someday. The secret of living your dream instead of your backup plan is-Starting!

DESERVING enormous outcomes is mostly the result of a series of small steps that magically make the invisible visable- that's the science of achievement.  Mine was " I want to travel around the world", and staying at sea for 6 to up to 13 month consecutively is how it "happened" The days went by slowly, but the month fast, and the years even faster.

I re-framed the experience as a sequence of  mini-retirements because it is not a very blue chip thing to do-renouncing the established templates for career fuel and leveling up.

This quasi PT-Permanent Frequent/ Constant Traveler designation seemed natural.  The Peculiar Club had no membership dues. Anyone could join. BLUE OCEAN Cruising around the world, provides a legitimate short cut for taking things with gratitude instead of for granted.

I met a bunch of folks who were/are the unmoored, never dropping anchor too long. They are of an ever growing number of the privileged homeless, where home is a feeling not a place. Our souls are surely from "somewhere else".

Like attracts like and it seems that those who have a sense of wonder and curiosity, choose this option. I take solace and a  comfort to know that there is a world which is purely one’s own — the experience in that world, of travel, danger, happiness, is shared with no one else..yet others are "undergoing" their own version.

I totally "get it". In fact the travel is a backdrop, fish out of water rituals of reassurance that life is bizarre and awesome cruel and kind, and the realization, despite the photos and power spots around the globe, all the significant events of your life take place in your brain.

Neurons that fire together, fire together

The Earth was made round so that we would not see too far down the road but Neurons That Fire Together Wire Together and the best way to predict the future is to INVENT it. There is no absolute grid I live in where things occur independent of my own thinking about them. In the 70's The ME Generation was Old school selfishness--- I am the center of the world. That's tired. My New Wor(l)d Order says, I create the world...and more importantly my thoughts do too. Change your thoughts, change your world. That's Wired Thinking.

The 3pound Universe-Grey Matters

As the brain changes the mind changes, in practical terms each time you repeat a particular thought or action, and "use your marbles", you strengthen the connection between a set of brain cells or neurons

Decisions Are Bets On The Future. Please be nice to your future self-Play the long game.

We live(d) in ambiguity, and make decisions in conditions of uncertainty over time, when living on a ship.

Luck is probability taken personally. It is preperation and opportunity colliding at the right time at the right place doing the right things.

The hardest arithmetic I've had to master is the one which enables me to count my blessings.

There is no doubt about it, the exhilarating state of mind that travel can evoke, when everything seems suddenly fresh, vivid, intensely interesting, and memorable.

We call it planet Earth but it is mostly covered in blue ocean... and you cover a lot more territory by ship. Therefore I highly recommend traveling by sea. You get there faster by plane but you get there farther by ship. As you detect the story line in your own lives: write and tell it to others. It will open up a hidden world of self-discovery and meaning. I know. I have seen it for myself. Follow your bliss, and don't br afraid; doors will open where you would not have thought there would be doors, and where there wouldn't be a door for anyone else.

That Was Zen. This is Now

  •  As if that wasn't enough, I did another year at sea in 2012...
People say that what we are all seeking is a meaning for life. I don't think this is what we're really seeking. I think what we're seeking is an experience of being alive.~ The Power of Myth - Joe Campbell

There are three types of people-those alive, those dead and those @sea--cruising around the world  has been one  of the most rewarding forms of introspection. It is one stage of my “re-entry” in Hotel @nyware, continuing my extended break from Normal Life again to travel the world on board another cruise ship. I’m living my dream of PT-Permanent Travel, also known as "Mini Retirements". I haven’t been everywhere, but it is no longer  on my list. I "get it" now., this travel thing. On 12/12/12, Blogging is literature in a hurry-Write? Right! The quicker I go, the longer it takes, so it looks like I will be writing a few more posts on the subject.

As I document this adventure, this  around-the-world travelogue, I say to myself "Roam Sweet Roam". Home is not where my heart is but where my computer is- I remain a digital nomad, where  Anywhere becomes @nyware, location neutral, as there is no such thing as a bad piece of real estate when you use technology and social media. As I make my way in the Caribbean (again!), in the middle of nowhere, but the center of everything, thanks to a reliable high speed Internet connection.  I am doing pretty much everything I would do in the USA, only with the economies of scale, at a less greater cost.

Consequently, I call home a feeling not a place-I’ve never confused  a street address for where I  actually lived. My destinations have  never been  places , but  new way of seeing things:  the journeys themselves have been the destinations.

It has never been about resources, but more about resourcefulness. We're never  too poor to buy our freedom. In fact,  we are  all “time millionaires ”and when we  who choose to use this commodity, the less  we put a cash value on travel, and  the less  we think that money is what we need to have an adventure  and live, and the less we associate money with life in general.
