Cool Change - Ocean Navigator ⊕ 🧭 Cool Change We're callin' everyone to ride along to another shore We can laugh our lives away and be free once more I used to think that working on a cruise ship was bad so I stopped thinking. Two songs that inspired me to sail are: Cool Change Ride Captain Ride Well I was born in the sign of water And it's there that I feel my best If there's one thing in my life that's missing It's the time that I spend alone Sailing on the cool and bright clear water There...

Back in the Saddle - Ocean Navigator ⊕ 🧭 Back in the Saddle Back in the saddle again. The art of keeping a horse between you and the ground is connect the dots because these lovely animals are so well trained. Still, Heaven is high and earth wide, If you ride three feet higher above the ground than the other tourists. It didn't take long for "Blessed" to get into the swim of things To ride a horse they say is to ride the sky - so now I ride the ocean ...

Life After Luau

And it goes like this... Everyday on a cruise is a fashion show and the ship is our runway.

Curaçao-It Ain't Much If It Ain't Dutch

I am sailing on a dutch-driven ship-Holland America, in a Dutch Colonial town called Willemstad-I love this place! It is visually beautiful and the people are good natured folks. Now all I want for Christmas is a sun tan.

Captain Ed's Caribbean Voyage Log Captain Ed's Caribbean Voyage Log Navigation Chronicles from the Seven Seas "Go to heaven for the climate and hell for the company" Liking many people spontaneously and without effort is probably my greatest of all sources of personal happiness. I am inspired because of my travels, and I think, therefore, that I should write some more about them. Sometimes I see what I see and other times I see what I came to see. Yet sailing on a cruise ship is like granola. Take away all the fruits and the nuts and all you have left are the flakes. The gravity of travel is that it can be expensive and living on earth and doing nothing still gets each of us a round trip around the sun. The ea...

Half Moon Cay-Ride Captain Ride

People on horses look better than they are. People  on ships look worse than they are. I used to bet on them. Now I am riding them. The horses here are fun to swim with. I have had another splendid morning in this  Bahamian Cay and private island for Holland America.

Ed's Back - Spiritual Navigation with Wayne Dyer Ed's Back! A Spiritual Navigator's Return To live a pure unselfish life, one must count nothing as one's own in the midst of abundance Face to Face with Wayne's World of Inner Navigation The Art of Inner Navigation Making the decision to be free all starts with enlightening up—the recognition that we are facing the wrong way, outward instead of inward, moving from our insatiable need and dis-ease for more, to an awareness of abundance; from a sense of ourselves as sinful and inferior, to an acceptance of ourselves as d...

Dominica-It Just Happens

Image
My impressions from April 2012, my last visit have not changed: When you're born into this world, you're given a ticket to the freak show. If you're born in America you get a front row seat. Island life is Project Manana. I do this real moron thing, and it's called thinking. And apparently I'm not a very good Tourist because I like to form my own opinions Is it Manana yet. Mañana: 1. Tomorrow 2. An unspecified future time Banana Republic Is Hiring! Christopher Columbus never actually discovered Dominica, it had merely been detected. After he spotted the island on a Sunday (dominica in Latin, domingo in Spanish...you get the idea). It's more like manana-nothing much gets done on time when it happens, it just happens, life goes on, and you can just pee in the ocean. Carpe Diem verses Carpe Mañana.

Friend Ships

The best ships are friendships On  land you keep both eyes open, at sea one eye closed Walmart on the water" That's  not Michael Stypes, that;s me in the corner-losing my religion Cruise Ship Service is about downplaying the negatives and creating the illusion of perfection. The FOH (front of the house) is all things to all people.  Now that I am finally traveling as a guest ,  I  DO  like to be served, but invisibly. Yet everyone is calling me “Mr Reif”. Working on ship  with Guest Status on this  floating hotels,  you are the United Nations Ambassador, and the whole passenger   manifest   become   non-persons and are granted an ethical equivalent of diplomatic immunity. Anything goes. No judgments.  So on the one hand , I like the anonymity but on the other hand, if it wasn’t for Facebook and the internet, I wouldn’t be able to keep track of the volumes of people I see each day.  No Man Is An Island, ...
