Eidfjord Passage, Norway's Ecstasy

Norway Field Notes · The Call

Intoxicating

But I swear to drunk I’m not God.

If Hollywood is loneliness beside the swimming pool, Norway is solitude by the fjords.

The Road In

On the Way to Vøringsfossen

This morning we are heading toward Norway’s most famous waterfalls: Vøringsfossen, through Måbødalen.

The road feels less like transport and more like initiation—mountain walls, tunnels, switchbacks, mist, and the sense that the landscape has decided to close around you.

Foreign Land

Solitude by the Fjords

Hollywood offers loneliness beside the swimming pool. Norway offers solitude by the fjords.

The difference is not merely scenery. Loneliness collapses inward. Solitude opens outward. One isolates; the other enlarges.

The Elixir

Some landscapes do not make you feel small. They make your problems feel correctly sized.

The mountain road narrows, the waterfall waits, and the noise in the mind finally meets something louder.
