A pilgrimage to Ronda, the city of dreams for Hemingway and Orson Welles. Standing in Spain's oldest bullfighting ring, Skyelark and The Matador pose in the very arena where legends were made.
Literary Legacy: This is where Hemingway found inspiration for "For Whom the Bell Tolls" and where Orson Welles' ashes were scattered.

Vigo - Sugar Blues
A more raw encounter with Spain in Vigo, where I met a baker making ginormous croissants. This place looked like it should be renamed "Beirut, Spain" - all bombed out with deep construction, concrete slabs, and jackhammers everywhere.
Reality Check: "The whiter the bread, the quicker you're dead." There wasn't a patch of green anywhere - I was the healthiest person walking the street.
Mission to Mars with buddy Mike - searching for a cigar store between 2PM and 4PM when everything was closed. Classic España siesta time: part of the "work less, do more" strategy.

Walking Skyelark through the narrow, hilly streets of Gibraltar proves challenging, but crossing into Spain opens up endless possibilities for our canine explorer.
